Organized folders and documents prepared for review

Building a data room that auditors can actually use

Field lists beat screenshot folders. Here is the minimum export set we ask for before a subscription revenue engagement.

A useful data room is boring on purpose. We would rather receive tidy CSVs than a slide deck of green arrows.

Minimum set for a Subscription Revenue Performance Audit:

  1. Invoice-level billing export with tax lines and currency
  2. Credit notes and refunds with reason codes
  3. Plan catalogue with effective dates and proration flags
  4. Event table (or warehouse view) behind the active-subscriber definition
  5. A key that links customer or subscription IDs across systems

If a key does not exist, say so early. Provisional findings are honest; invented joins are not. Label each file with the month coverage and extraction timestamp. That alone removes a day of email ping-pong.

Teams in Kuala Lumpur often stage the room in a shared drive with read-only access for the engagement window. When the engagement closes, revoke access and keep your own copies of the worksheets we leave behind.
